Eddie Lacy Injury: Updates on Packers RB's Ankle and Return

As Aaron Rodgers inches closer to his return, the Green Bay Packers could now be faced with another major problem: the health of running back Eddie Lacy.

The team announced he would be questionable to return against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 14 after suffering an ankle injury.

However, the Packers reported that he would return:

The star rookie was hurt on the last play of the first half and didn't immediately return to the game at the start of the third quarter, which signaled something was wrong, per NFL Around the League.

According to ESPNWisconsin's Jason Wilde, Lacy was able to return to the sidelines, where he worked out with the team doctor and trainer.

Before leaving the game, Lacy had 11 carries for 32 yards and a touchdown.

For a team that has dealt with injuries all season, Lacy is right behind Rodgers as one of the key players Green Bay can most ill-afford to lose. He's leading the team in rushing, with 822 yards and six touchdowns, and looks like a favorite for Offensive Rookie of the Year.

The Packers will need Lacy back as soon as possible if they want to cling to whatever is left of their playoff hopes.
