For the second straight week, the Seattle Seahawks are going to be without Percy Harvin. Coach Pete Carroll said on Friday that Harvin won't be playing in Sunday's game against the 49ers. Harvin has only played in one of Seattle's three games since being activated off the physically unable to perform list on Nov. 11.

"Percy's not going to make this one, but we're hoping that maybe next week is his week and we'll see how it goes," Carroll told KIRO-FM in Seattle on Friday.

Harvin didn't practice on Wednesday or Thursday and even before Carroll's announcement, it didn't look like he was going to take the field on Sunday against San Francisco.

Harvin's played in one game this season and that came in Week 11 against the Vikings when he caught one pass for 17 yards. After that game, Harvin experienced some soreness in his hip that didn't go away during Seattle's Week 12 bye. The lingering hip problem led Harvin to get a cortisone shot before the Seahawks hosted the Saints last Monday night, a game Harvin didn't play in.

The isn't the first time Harvin's hip -- which was surgically repaired in August -- has given him trouble. Harvin also had trouble with the hip when he first began practicing with the team in October. To fix the problem then, Harvin had his hip drained of excess fluid.

If Harvin's hip needs rest, the Seahawks can earn him some with a win over the 49ers. A win on Sunday over San Francisco would clinch the NFC West for Seattle and a first-round bye in the playoffs.
